Eastbourne Town have secured the services of former player Tom Vickers
Vickers, who left the club to join Newhaven following our playoff-winning season and promotion to the Isthmian League, makes his return to The Saffrons after signing from Southern Combination Football League Premier Division side Newhaven.
The commanding and experienced defensive midfielder will bolster the ranks and provide Jude Macdonald with much-needed defensive options after injuries to centre-half Dan Hull and midfielder Harvey Greig.
Vickers, who has had previous spells for Eastbourne Town at county level, will excite The Saffrons faithful once again, bringing formidable power, leadership and one or two spectacular goals.
Vickers has made 122 appearances for the club, scoring 27 goals, and will relish the challenge of a step up in competition wearing the yellow and blue. He was a key figure in our playoff-winning campaign last season, making 30 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing the assist for the first goal of the playoff final versus Newhaven. Tom goes straight into the matchday squad this afternoon versus Ramsgate at The Saffrons.
