Alfie Rogers opens the scoring away at VCD Athletic
Our dominance continued, and just seven minutes later, we doubled the advantage in spectacular fashion. Jack Murphy produced a moment of brilliance, arriving onto a loose ball on the edge of the area before unleashing a stunning strike into the top corner, a goal that had the travelling Town supporters in full voice.
We controlled much of the first half and created further chances, but went into the break with a deserved 2-0 lead.

The hosts responded after the restart, enjoying a stronger spell and testing our defence. An effort from Jack Nelson struck the inside of the post, serving as a reminder that the game was far from over.
Jude Macdonald reacted by reshaping the side and introducing fresh legs, and it paid off.
Sixteen-year-old Austin Pugh made an immediate impact from the bench, writing his name into the history books as our youngest goalscorer. Latching onto a perfectly weighted through ball from James Waters, he calmly slotted home to extend our lead.

VCD Athletic did find a way back into the game when a deflected effort from Reece Deakin trickled over the line, denying us a clean sheet.
But we had the final say.
Another of our young talents, Theo Aiguobasimwin, capitalised on a mistake at the back and showed great awareness to pick out Pugh, who rose to head home his second of the afternoon and seal a 4-1 victory.
The win sees us surpass last season’s points tally, a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the progress made this campaign. With one game remaining, we’ll be looking to finish the season strongly in front of our supporters.
