After last week’s Cup exit, a bright, sunny Sunday morning saw Town U18s return to league action as they hosted Little Common at the Saffrons.
Our youngsters started slowly and were pinned in their own half for the first fifteen minutes, although Little Common’s pressure led to only one chance from a corner, which Finn Harvey managed to punch clear. Town started to move the ball later in the period but the first half ended goalless and fairly even.

Town’s youngsters came out after the break with more passion and slowly ramped up the pressure on Little Common. The game remained balanced throughout out with few chances at either end. It looked like a goalless draw was on the cards. Until Dom Parish picked up the ball on the halfway line and went on a marauding run down the left flank to deliver a sublime cross, finding the head of Theo Aiguobasimwin making it one nil Town with minutes to go.
Little Common stepped up in the dying minutes with Town soaking up the pressure to hold on for a hard-fought win and to claim the three points. It was an evenly balanced game which saw the back four play solidly, Ben Hanmer was strong and managed a couple of probing runs.
