Eastbourne Town Football Club, in partnership with local charity, Kingdom Way Trust, collected sleeping bags and raised money for the charity during a recent matchday.
Kingdom Way provides comprehensive support, resources, and opportunities that empower individuals in Eastbourne to overcome homelessness and rebuild their lives.
During matchday, Saturday 16th December 2023, the club and supporters proudly raised £240.00 and eight sleeping bags were donated.
CEO, Roland Brown said: “Please accept my grateful thanks on behalf of all at Kingdom Way Trust for the recent generous donation of £240.00 plus 8 sleeping bags made by Eastbourne Town Football Club. This donation will go towards our work with the homeless community. The Way, our town-centre venue provides a welcome, warm space and support for people from the street community at weekends. Sadly, many have to sleep rough, so sleeping bags and warm clothes are appreciated. Our thanks to all at the club for their support which will help us serve those who are vulnerable in our community”.
The Kingdom Way Trust recently were able to lease some property to use as a Night Shelter to provide emergency accommodation and support for 10 rough sleepers at a time. This enables them to build on their positive experience from the past few years of providing single-room shelter and support to individuals to help them move on to longer-term accommodation.
Our thanks to all the supporters who helped the club contribute to such a worthy cause in the Eastbourne community.
