After the third consecutive postponement to Towns Quarter-Final Cup clash against Crawley Down Gatwick on Tuesday, attention turns back to the league campaign this Saturday as Loxwood visit The Saffrons. Just over halfway through the season and with Town sitting in 6th place, just two points outside the top five playoff places, another three points here will come in handy, especially with rivals Peacehaven and Steyning against one another. Town also have two big games coming up this month away to Crowborough and home to Peacehaven. It’s points on the board time!

Loxwood will be looking to maintain their steady pace, moving themselves away from any potential danger come the end of the season. The Magpies are no slouches by any means, having already toppled one SCFL giant this season they won’t be coming into this one with any fear.

Our Opponents

The visitors come into this game sitting in 15th place and off the back of a six-goal thriller (3-3) against high-flying Midhurst & Easebourne. Loxwood had a tough start to this campaign and relived their former manager, Peter Barkley, of his duties following a 1-4 defeat to Town back in September. Following this, the Magpies had mixed results but managed to pick up an impressive 4-3 win against big fish Haywards Heath and secure important victories over Saltdean United and Bexhill United to lift themselves away from the relegation zone.

Head-To-Head

Eastbourne Town have dominated this fixture in recent years having won the last four meetings and remaining undefeated in five with a 1-1 draw at one of the most picturesque grounds in the country. James Hull scored in that one back in September 2021 and he will be looking to add to his tally this season once again on Saturday.
