On Tuesday, the Women’s 1st Team Manager, Rick Tate, and Assistant Manager, John Kofoed, decided to part ways with the club with immediate effect.

They both have had a profound positive impact on the club, and the women’s game since joining in January 2022 as a caretaker manager seeing the team through the 21/22 season becoming full time in May 2022. Both Rick and John ,together, led the team to promotion by winning Division 1 of the Sussex County Women & Girls Football League (SCWGL) in 22/23.

They also supported the creation of the Development Team for the current season, and managed the 1st team to the final of the Sussex Women’s Challenge Trophy (to be played on 3rd March), for the first time since the Women last reached the final and won back in 2005.

Rick leaves Town with 35 League games; 20 wins, 3 draws and 12 losses and 8 Cup games, with 8 wins and 8 losses.

The club, and women’s teams, are grateful for Rick and John’s commitment over the past 3 seasons and are sad to see them go. Wishing them both many happy games of golf, whilst wearing their Town beanies of course!

Long term players, Sarah Da Silva and Dani Parfitt will act as joint player-managers for the rest of the season.
