This Saturday, we’ll be looking to put Tuesday night’s disappointment behind us and get back to winning ways as we host Ashford United at The Saffrons. After a long journey to Herne Bay, where we put in a solid performance but were unfortunate not to leave with at least a point, the team is eager to respond and deliver three points in front of our home crowd.

Our visitors, Ashford United, currently sit 20th in the league, but don’t let that fool you. With three games in hand and an impressive 1-3 victory away at East Grinstead last weekend, they pose a significant challenge. They have also had one of the toughest starts, playing three of the current top four in their first five matches. This will be Ashford’s first visit to The Saffrons since November 2016, when we edged a hard-fought FA Vase tie 2-1, thanks to goals from Dan Bolwell and Ethan Strevett.

Despite Tuesday’s defeat, we remain 9th in the table with nine games played. With another midweek fixture looming—a rescheduled Senior Cup match at Roffey on Tuesday—squad rotation will be key to managing fitness and keeping everyone sharp.

The weather outlook for Eastbourne on Saturday, 19th October, indicates mostly cloudy conditions with spells of sunshine. Temperatures will reach around 15°C, and wind speeds are expected to be moderate, reaching 12 mph with gusts up to 17 mph.
