The 14th March seems to be a long time ago when Town played their last league match, winning 3 goals to nil against Broadbridge Heath, before the season abruptly came to an end with all the league results later expunged. Then came the summer of uncertainty without knowing how long the Corona-virus would last and if there would be a 2020-21 season in Sussex. Although a small light at the end of the tunnel did appear when the Premier League was allowed to finish their season, but behind closed doors.
The Football Association, the Southern Combination League and the other leagues at the same level held an online conference with the different scenarios on starting the new season, depending on government advice. Although the good news is that the season would not start unless spectators were allowed in to watch.

First team training started last night at the Saffrons in preparation for a new season, although without knowing if it will be an August start or a September start. There was a scenario discussed with an October start and running the league with just 10 teams.

We at Eastbourne Town Football Club hope you have been safe so far during this pandemic and we will keep updating you both on social media and on the website with any updates to the team and the league. Stay safe!
