Playoff-chasing rivals clash at The Saffrons on Saturday afternoon as we host Peacehaven & Telscombe. With both clubs in hot pursuit of the top five, coupled with a healthy County League rivalry over recent years, plenty is riding on this fixture.

Our Opponents

The visitors sit one place below us but hold a valuable game in hand so will be coming into this one looking to leapfrog Town and push on. Their season so far has been relatively similar to Town’s, with a good run of wins earlier in the season but in recent months the consistency has wavered slightly and the mid-table form has both clubs out of the playoff places. The two will be looking to this game as a springboard back into that all-important top 5 race.

The Town supporters will also be reacquainted with some familiar faces, both Max Hoollobone and George Cook now wear the black and white stripes, having transferred over earlier in the season. James Waters will also be returning to The Saffrons after he signed for Peacehaven back in the summer from Town.

Recent Form (LDWLD)

13/01/24 | Haywards Heath 2-0 Peacehaven & Telscombe

06/01/24 | Peacehaven & Telscombe 1-1 Steyning Town

30/12/23 | Saltdean United 0-1 Peacehaven & Telscombe

26/12/23 | Peacehaven & Telscombe 1-3 Newhaven

16/12/23 | Pagham 0-0 Peacehaven & Telscombe

Head-To-Head

There’s not much between the two clubs in the league and the same goes for the last five fixtures. Bar a freak scoreline in the Peter Bentley Cup back in September 2022 where an electric Peacehaven took apart a rotated Town. The Men from The Saffrons edge the recent head-to-head with two wins including a solid away win earlier in the current campaign. Evan Archibald with the header in that one followed by a terrific defensive display in the second half. Saturday’s visitors will certainly be looking to get revenge for that one.
