The club is pleased to confirm that to date 12 of last season’s squad have re-signed for the 2016/17 season.

Having gone so close in the title race with Horsham last season, there will be great desire to go one better this time around. In addition we are delighted to be able to welcome 7 new additions to the squad so far.

First is Sean Ray who will need no introduction to followers of local football. Ray joins from Hastings United where he served as Player/Manager in United’s fantastic FA Cup run in 2012 which culminated in a 3rd round trip to the Riverside to play Middlesbrough, a powerful centre half who also captained United. He notched 9 goals in 51 appearance for the U’s last season in Ryman South.

Evan Archibald joins from last season’s title rivals Horsham. Locally Eastbourne based Archibald who also had a spell at Hastings United, is a proven goal scorer and despite missing the early part of last season still bagged himself 18 goals on the way to Hornets becoming SCFL champions last season

Matt Cunnington a joins from Larkhall Athletic. Cunnington has just returned from University having completed his degree. A former AFC Wimbledon player he first came to the attention of manager John Lambert when Town faced Hastings United in a pre-season friendly 12 months ago. Quick and skilful attacking player.

Layton Schaff returns to the Saffrons for a third spell. Having started last season at Peacehaven. Schaff is a versatile attacking player who can play in Midfield or Attack, Previous clubs include Lewes & East Grinstead.

Ethan Strevett is another to return to the Saffrons. Has struggled with an ongoing injury which has kept him out of action for the past 18 months, but is now fully fit and back playing. As a youngster he came through at Eastbourne Borough and was highly rated by Tommy Widdrington playing in Borough’s National League South side. A Central Midfielder who has a good range of passing and adds bite to that area of the pitch.

Drew Greenall joins Town having plied his trade at AFC Uckfield last season where he netted 20 goals. An experienced county league forward who has scored goals season after season wherever he has played.

Lastly Harry Ducatel joins the club from Conference South side Eastbourne Borough. Harry was an important part of Borough’s Academy Side, a very good footballer who can operate in either full back position or wide midfield.

We would like to welcome all the new players to the club and welcome back those from last year.
