Fixture news: FA Cup replay at home

The Town are back in at the Saffrons on Tuesday evening in the FA Cup Preliminary Round Replay after drawing 1-1 with Virginia Water at Stag Meadow last Saturday with James Waters scoring the only goal for Town.

Kick off is at 7:45pm.

Adults: £7
Concessions: £4
Under 16’s: Free

The tea bar and the Corner Flag Café will both be open.

Fixture news: Town away in FA Cup

After Tuesday nights fantastic performance by Town winning 2-0 away to Crawley Down Gatwick. Town are back on the road in the FA Cup Preliminary Round this Saturday against Combined Counties Premier North side, Virginia Water.

Town have never played against Virginia Water but they currently ground share with Windsor FC at Stag Meadow. The last time Town played at Stag Meadow we beat Windsor a whopping 7-1 in the FA Vase.

If you’re travelling to the game, please note that there is a railway strike on Saturday and there are no trains running to or from Eastbourne. If you are able to make it to the game, we wish you a safe journey.

Clockwise on the M25 to Junction 13
Follow signs to Bagshot / Egham (A30)
Then follow the A308 to Windsor or Legoland

The Town are back at the Saffrons again this Saturday in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round against Steyning Town.

Kick off is at 3pm

Hot and Cold food will be available.

Under FA Competition rules. No alcohol will be permitted into the ground.

Fixture news: Home to AFC Uckfield Town

This Tuesday, the Town play their first home league game of the season against AFC Uckfield Town, who won 4-0 against AFC Varndeanians over the weekend.

Kick off is at 7:30pm

Fixture News: Away to Roffey

The wait is over and the 2022-23 season kicks of this Saturday with The Towns first trip to Bartholomew Way, the home of Roffey FC.

Season tickets for the 2022-23 season are now on sale and will be available from the Tea Bar at this evenings game with Hastings United.

Prices for this season are Adults: £100 and Concessions: £60

Fixture news: pre-season at The Saffrons

Tomorrow (Thursday) and Tuesday evening will be Jude Macdonald’s first games at The Saffrons with a new build squad.

Tomorrow the Town are at home to Southern Combination Division One side Montpelier Villa, kick off at 7:30pm.

Tuesday evening the Town will play Hastings United, who were promoted into the Isthmian League Premier Division. Kick off also at 7:30pm

Entry for both games are:
Adults: £5
Concessions: £3

Fixture news: League fixtures out

The Southern Combination League at 10am this morning released the fixtures for the coming 2022-23 season. Town will start the 2022-23 campaign with an away trip to Roffey on 30th July and the first home game at the Saffrons on 2 August against AFC Uckfield.

Our first FA Cup game with season will be 6th August at home to Steyning Town

The Boxing Day Eastbourne Derby will again be hosted at the Saffrons with the Easter fixture at The Oval on the 10th April.

Evening work party

Will still quite a bit to finish before the season starts, we are asking for anyone to help out this Wednesday evening down at the Saffrons.

We mainly need painters. Even if you can’t paint there’s a few easy jobs to help out with.

A big thank you

The committee at Eastbourne Town would like to say a great big thank you to Scott Lawrence at Hawk Group for his help with materials and getting the pitch fencing ready for the forthcoming season.

Also big thanks goes out to everyone who helped out at The Saffrons over the past weeks getting the ground ready.

There is one more work party coming up next Saturday, we need painters to paint the new fence.

Fixture news: FA Cup draw and more

The FA today have announced the Extra Preliminary round draw for this seasons FA Cup.

We have been drawn to play Steyning Town at the Saffrons which will be played on Saturday 6th August. Kick off at 3pm

FA Vase
We have been given a bye in the First Qualifying round and will play away at either Hailsham Town or Newhaven on Saturday 24th September.

Peter Bentley Cup
We have been drawn away to Peacehaven & Telscombe in the second round. Date yet to be confirmed.

FA Youth Cup
The Under 18’s have been drawn away to Shoreham and will be played on Monday 15th August.

Southern Combination League Fixtures
These are due to be announced on Tuesday 12th July.

Next fixture the Town will be playing tomorrow away in a friendly game with East Preston at the Lashmar. Entry is £3.

Work party 2

This Saturday morning will be another work party at the Saffrons to prepare the ground for the upcoming season. The last work party two weeks ago saw plenty of help and we would like more to come and help.

Even if your not DIY friendly, please still come down to help. We will find something for you to do.

Player news: New signings

Over the past week we have been busy signing players for the first team.

Re-signing from last season are defenders Frankie Chappell and Leon Greig who have been joined by Lloyd Cotton from Whitehawk and Nathan Hover who returns after a couple of seasons at AFC Uckfield Town.

Other signings include James Waters from Lancing and Anesu Sisimayi also from Whitehawk.

Also returning back to Town is Tyler Capon from Peacehaven & Telscombe.

Work party at the Saffrons

This Saturday morning, the club are looking for help from anyone to help tidy up the Saffrons ready for the upcoming season.

Even if your not DIY friendly, still come down and help out in any way you can.

Town Under 18 trials

Eastbourne Town FC will be holding trials to anyone wishing to join our Under 18’s team on two different dates.

The two sessions are on Wednesday 15th and Wednesday 22nd June.

Meet at 18:15 and the sessions will run between 18:30 and 20:00

Club News: New manager announced

Town today are pleased to announce that former Whitehawk manager, Jude Macdonald, will take over as Eastbourne Town manager from immediate effect.

Jude spent seven years at Whitehawk, five years as the Under 18 manager before replacing Steve King and spending the next two as first team manager in the Isthmian League Premier.

Chairman Dave Shearing said “We thank all the applicants who applied. It was a tough selection and we welcome Jude. We look forward to working with him and as a committee supporting him and his team for the future to come.

1st Team Manager Vacancy

Eastbourne Town FC are now taking applications for 1st team manager.

The successful applicant would expected to be responsible for the development of all aspects of the playing side from the Under 18’s through to the first team.

We are looking for someone with experience and relevant coaching qualifications.

The closing date for applications is 14th May 2022.

Lambert and Podmore step down

Eastbourne Town FC are sad to announce that long-standing manager John Lambert has stepped down along with assistant manager and his good friend Jamie Podmore.

Both have been in charge of over eight successful years at The Saffrons. Admired and respected by all, they have overseen a period of success and stability for the club and both will be greatly missed. Highlights include winning the RUR Cup, hugely historic and successful runs in both the FA Cup and FA Vase coupled with consistent top four finishes in the league.

Its certainly of an era at The Saffrons and we wish both John and Jamie all the best for the future.

188 Wins, 56 Draws and 95 Losses

Fixture news: Home to East Preston, the last game of the season.

This Saturday the Town play thier last game of the season, at home to relegated East Preston. This game will be free entry to all but will be replaced with donations to local homeless charity Matthew 25 Mission.

New chairman, Dave Shearing said, it’s important we work with the wider community and we couldn’t be supporting a great cause.

Kick off is at 3pm.
